Who is Gabriel Knight?

Gabriel's second case as a Schattenjäger came in 1995 when what initially appeared to be a wolf attack ended with the death of a child in a town near Munich… and Gabe’s suspicions that this was a werewolf case proved only too true. Grace's contribution was crucial and proved to be even more valuable when Gabriel himself was bitten by one of the werewolves and became a werewolf himself for some months until the source of evil was destroyed.

In June 1998 Gabriel was called for consultation by Prince James Stuart of Albany in Paris, to cast some light on the odd vampiric phenomena of the "night visitors" which had tormented the Stuart family for centuries. Gabe’s task was also to keep his eye on the prince's baby, Charlie, to see whether he was going to suffer from these night visitations too.

However, in spite of all the precautions, the baby was kidnapped and the track led Gabriel to the little Pyrenean village of Rennes-le-Château, where he was joined by Grace. The investigations led to the discovery of a vampire sect and to the unveiling of the nature of the Rennes-le-Château secret. The experience proved to be much more spiritually intense than the two preceding Schattenjäger cases and contributed to unveil what Gabriel and Grace's relationship had turned into: Grace had always loved Gabriel, and Gabriel had finally become aware of his feelings for her. However, in the very moment when the case was closed, while Gabriel was still in a subterranean cave after a shattering experience, Grace left their hotel room for parts unknown… leaving only a note behind.

This is the point where our information ceased: we left Gabriel on 9th June 1998, alone in an empty hotel room. What happened next? There are few who know: the documents concerning Gabriel's latest case exist, but are under the strict vigilance of Jane Jensen.
